Marcel Dupré: Évocation, Allegro Deciso (Op. 37, 3rd movement)

twaltonbaker - Wayne Fisher plays Evocation, 3rd movement: Allegro Deciso, by Marcel Dupré

Évocation is a three-movement work based on a single theme with several subordinate themes which evolve from the leading motive. Allegro Deciso, the last movement, is a rondo in typical Dupré bravura style.

This recording was made at St. Luke's in Evanston, Illinois, in the later 1970s. This is the famous E.M. Skinner organ Opus 327, from 1921.

Wayne Fisher (1910-1975) taught organ for many years at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati, and served as chairman of the organ department.
