Johannes Brahms: Prelude in G Minor

Recorded on the Aeolian-Skinner organ at the Hyde Park Community Methodist Church, Cincinnati, Ohio; a recording of music from the inaugural recital, played by Wayne Fisher on Sept. 20, 1959.

The Prelude in G Minor for organ is a bit of a fantasia which introduces a fugue. This recording, however, includes only the Prelude. Of the Brahms works that have no opus number, this work is counted as No. 10.

Wayne Fisher taught organ for many years at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati, and served as chairman of the organ department.
